The cycle tour starts at Germany's oldest town hall in Brilon's Altstadt and passes Brilon railroad station. The only ascent of the route awaits right at the beginning, up to the district of Wülfte and on to Alme. There, in the idyllic Mühltal valley, the Alme springs from more than a hundred individual rivers - one of the strongest and cleanest spring distributions in Germany. The nature reserve fascinates with its enchanting scenery.
Cyclists can discover many more sights worth seeing before reaching the mouth of the Lippe in the old imperial and episcopal city of Paderborn. For example, the ruins of Ringelstein Castle, Wewelsburg Castle high above the Almetal valley, the 750-year-old Mittelmühle mill and the baroque Jesuit church in Büren. The last stop on the cycle tour is the extensive castle and meadow park at the Renaissance Neuhaus Castle.
